Dr. Hollenbeak is a health economist whose primary research bridges surgical issues and economics. He has studied optimal allocation of organs for transplantation, the cost-effectiveness of diagnostic imaging modalities in head and neck cancer, and the economic implications of surgical wound infections. His publications appear in such journals as the New England Journal of Medicine, Surgery, Chest, and Transplantation. Dr. Hollenbeak is also interested in the development and use of Bayesian methods for statistical analysis and decision making.
